District Information

The Saranac Central School District is primarily a residential community situated at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains along the Saranac River valley in northern New York. Neighbor to the City of Plattsburgh, the school district is located in the Towns of Saranac, Plattsburgh, Dannemora, Schuyler Falls, Beekmantown and Black Brook.

The District serves a student population of approximately 1,500 students and in 2006 consolidated to three school campuses, Saranac and Morrisonville Elementary and Saranac Middle/High School. Historically, the residents have consistently supported a complete range of high quality programs, services and activities for students.

The District's mission is "To provide all students the opportunity to receive quality instruction that will develop their ability to achieve high standards. To guarantee guidance and caring support that will help them learn to apply acquired knowledge to life situations and to become lifelong learners."

As the District celebrates its successes, we also look ahead in building upon the future. To this end, our long range plan continues to focus our efforts in striving toward excellence.
