New Student Registration

Saranac Central School has a centralized registration process.  New residents may register school-age children (must be 5 years old on or before December 1) by obtaining a registration packet from the High School Office located at 60 Picketts Corners Road, Saranac.  The forms can also be downloaded (see below), completed, and brought in to register.  All registration packets will be reviewed before the student is able to attend school.  The school retains the right to temporarily delay registration pending evaluation of the documents and facts presented.  It is not necessary to bring your child to register.  For any questions please contact the School Registrar at (518) 565-5810 between the hours of 8:00am to 3:30pm.

The following items are required for registration:

  • Two Proofs of Residency with Street Address (One from Group 1 and one from Group 2)
Group 1:
Copy of residential lease; deed; or mortgage
Contract for purchase of home (seller/buyer information)
Affidavit by a third party landlord, owner or tenant from whom the parent/guardian leases from or lives with
 
Group 2:
Utility bill excluding phone (electric, gas/fuel, cable/Internet)
Car or Home Insurance Policy
Tax Bill
Social Security statement
DSS document
Income tax form
Payroll Stub

Kindergarten Registration

Child must be 5 years old on or before December 1st.  Kindergarten registration is by appointment.  This year's Kindergarten registration is scheduled as follows:

TBA at Saranac Elementary (18 Picketts Corners Road, Saranac) 565-5900.

TBA at Morrisonville Elementary (47 Sand Road, Morrisonville) 565-5980.

What will you need for Kindergarten registration?

  • Please have your child wear sneakers to the Kindergarten registration.
  • Proof of residency (see above for list of appropriate proof)
  • Copy of Original Birth Certificate
  • Copy of Immunization Records
  • Copy of Physical Exam by a doctor within the last year
  • Copy of Custody Records, if applicable
  • Completed Kindergarten Registration Forms - will be mailed to you after you schedule your appointment or click here to download a copy of forms

New York State Education Law now requires that the following immunizations be completed and all dates provided prior to entering school:

1-Polio Vaccine (IPV or OPV) Series (minimum four doses to enter Kindergarten)
2-Measles, Mumps, Rubella (two doses) – Revised, March 2015.
3-Diptheria-Pertussis-Tetanus DPT (minimum four doses)
4-Hepatitis B (three doses)
5-Varicella Vaccine (two doses) – Revised March, 2015.

Immunization clinic information will be provided to assist you in completing the requirements.
