WHAT IS SARANAC'S PERCENTAGE OF IDENTIFIED STUDENTS?

Saranac's identified student percentage is approximately 34% for the 2017-2018 school year. To qualify for the program, the number of identified students in the District would need to increase by about 154.

DOES SARANAC CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT PROVIDE FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH TO ALL STUDENTS?

We do not. The USDA's Food and Nutrition Services provides a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which allows the nation's highest poverty schools and Districts to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students. A district or school is able to enroll in CEP if the percentage of identified students is above 40%. An identified student lives in a household that receives benefits such as SNAP/Food Stamps, Medicaid, TANF Cash Assistance or FDPIR.
